The Civic Arena
I tried to watch some hockey highlights this morning but every two seconds freakin’ Marty was staring me down, setting more records. Can we move on already?
OK, on to Wednesday night’s tussle with Ottawa. A game in which I will be in attendance! It will be my first Pens game this year, and the first since Game One of last year’s Cup series in Detroit.

Fisher's Girl
This will also be my farewell to the Igloo. (lump in throat) After watching many games, hockey and basketball, it will be time so say a tearful goodbye. For a few months, years back, I interned for the Pens and called the Civic Arena basement my home. Good memories.
In addition to me and a few members of my family in the Arena tomorrow, do you think we might see super-woman and fiancée of Mike Fisher, Carrie Underwood? If she is in the building I have a feeling she won’t be out amongst the locals.
Do you think I will see any offense tomorrow night? The Pens were blanked by the Devils – have you heard? It was Brodeur’s one millionth shutout, an NHL record – and the Senators were scoreless in a 2-0 defeat against Boston Monday night.
Any chance Ottawa will put Mike Brodeur between the pipes? If they do, will the Pens have flashbacks to Monday night? Mike Brodeur made 22 saves and allowed just one goal in his NHL debut on Dec. 19 against Minnesota.
The Penguins are 7-4 this year after a loss and 1-1 against the Senators so far this season, both games being played in Canada’s capital.
Hopefully I will witness a return to the win column. Visit tomorrow for game recap and in-arena pictures.
