Good News All Around

It was discovered through X-rays on Monday that Evgeni Malkin does NOT have a fracture in his foot. All fans holding their breath can now exhale. While that news doesn’t guarantee Malkin’s presence in the lineup Wednesday or Thursday, it’s undeniably very good news. The Pens obviously need Malkin in the lineup. A broken foot would have been disastrous. His status is officially listed as day to day. Let’s hope for a quick recovery.

DirecTV subscribers, meanwhile, received great news late Monday. Versus is back! The cable network and the satellite service finally reached an agreement to return Versus to DirecTV programming. While this drama went on for way too long (since Sept. 1), the bottom line is fans will now be able to watch the NHL playoffs. As a DirecTV subscriber, I am relieved. The situation has been a thorn in my side since the start of the season. The fact that I missed out on a couple of WEC events made it even worse. Now that cooler heads finally prevailed, I can watch the Pens last two games on Versus during the regular season and enjoy the entirety of the NHL playoffs from the comfort of my living room.

Finally versus back on directv! Great news. Sucks to pay for fsn and the center ice package and still have to go out to the bar on a monday night to watch the game. Good news the bruise on genos foot probably can’t slow him down any.
