Staal Recovering Quickly

Montreal Canadiens v Pittsburgh Penquins

Could Jordan Staal possibly suit up for tonight’s game four in Montreal?  The media is reporting that he went through a full practice and, although still listed as day-to-day, emerged from the work-out without any lingering effects of the sliced tendon in his foot that he suffered in game one.

If Staal returns to the line-up tonight it will be a heroic effort that is guaranteed to lift the team’s spirit, let alone the third line and, most importantly, the penalty kill.

I don’t think any Penguin fans are expecting Staal to play a mere few days following surgery, but the recent reports are definitely encouraging for a team hoping to defend its title.

A prediction on the game (and I am notoriously bad on predictions, see Boston/Philly series)…tonight’s contest will be more wide-open than Tuesday night’s 2-0 triumph.  Remember the 7-4 win against Ottawa?  I’m predicting something like that this eve.  Guess we’ll see.
