The Penguins gave days off to Malkin, Staal and Martin.    Martin is considered day-to-day at this point though he is not on the ice according to Sam Kasan of the Penguins report.

After a 3 point night last night, Malkin has found himself in first with the league lead in scoring at 39 points overall.    He is tied with Giroux and Sedin, and Giroux has been out for a few games now with a Concussion, and will return in tonight’s game.

Crosby has been named Ambassador to the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, in January.     This will be the first edition of this event and it takes place from the 13th through the 22nd of January.     He does not plan to attend, and it is reported that the event will not keep him away from Penguin Activity.     I must admit though, if he can not play, which he can’t, and he is not on the ice then he should go.    Just a thought.     He still means a great deal to the sport, and of course to the Youth Hockey Players all over North America.

Deryk Engelland’s hit last night on Kruger will be reviewed for possible league punishment that could result in at least a fine, but could end up in a suspension. He was not given a penalty last night for his hit on Kruger, but after looking at the video, you can see he clearly left his feet.

Here is Link to the Video.
