Sidney Goes To The Doctor And Other Penguin News

Sidney Crosby did not travel home with the Pens today.      He went to visit Dr. Ted Carrick, specialist in chiropractic neurology.     Doctor Carrick worked with Sid in August.      They are trying to trouble shoot a balance and motion issue.

Sidney has no other side effects at all except for the Balance and Motion issues.   Sid and the Pens are hoping that they can figure out what is wrong so that he can get back to practicing so he can play.     Sidney has been out since December 5th. He played 8 games when he first returned, and scored 12 points in those 8 games.     He was very effective in the first 4 of those games where he got 11 of those 12 points.     He was ineffective from that 5th game on.      That combined with another hit on the ice, though it was not a head shot.    It was just a jarring hit that shook him up enough to bring on the symptoms.

Ray Shero was interviewed on local(Pittsburgh area Radio Station) radio where he was asked if at any point they contemplated Sid Shutting things down for the year.     He stated that is was not discussed.    Sid is determined to get healthy, and come back to play.    Shero is committed to Sidney coming back 100% healthy, and not playing one ounce prior to that.

In other Penguins news, Malkin was awarded NHL’s 3rd star for this past week for his 5 goals and 2 game winning goals.      Malkin also scored a Natural Hat Trick against the Tampa Bay  Lightning which helped seal up that game.     Malkin takes his hot play back home for a game against the Carolina Hurricane on Tuesday.

When the Pens came out on the ice all wearing the “C” in support of Sid during practice last week, little did they know that it would start a “C” REVOLUTION.   Here is the link on the Fans adopting the C,  and hear is the Link for anyone who would like to wear their “C’ on Twitter
