Kris Letang made a Big impact during his return to the ice, But Malkin once again shined above the rest as the Pittsburgh Penguins Beat the Rangers 4-1.   Malkin took the overall points lead with his 2 goals to give him 24 goals and 30 assists for the season.

The Rangers never got on track tonight, as the Pens took it to them from the drop of the puck on.    The Penguins were able to not only out shoot the Rangers, but out chance them also.   Chris Kunitz started the scoring off with a wrist shot at the 3 minute mark of the 1st period to give the Pens a 1-0 lead.

The Rangers were able to tie things up in the second with a Goal by Carl Hagelin, his 8th of the season at the halfway point in the game.     The second period was the most active for the Rangers as they were able to out shoot the Pens that period.    Neither team was able to score another goal that period,   though each team had their opportunities.    Both goalies played well through the 2nd period.

Once the 3rd period started, the Pens found another gear, and the scoring started quickly.     Park scored his 4th of the season on a great tic- tac- toe pass from Engelland and Cooke.      Malkin was then able to score on the backhand 5 minutes after the Park goal.       Kris Letang picked up an assist on the Malkin goal.     Malkin was then able to put the game on ice with just under 2 minutes left in the third with an empty netter.

The Pens out shot the Rangers 36-31.     Unlike the last game that these teams played, Fleury was the better between the pipes tonight.     Stopping 30 of 31 shots and making some sparkling plays to keep the Pens in the game.

The Penguins have a short turnaround as they play the struggling Montreal Canadiens team tomorrow night at home.     The Pens will be holding a Charity Auction during the game tomorrow night, anyone can take part just by going to this Link or by watching the game on ROOT Sports and keeping your phone close as the merchandise is introduced throughout the game.    There is a lot to bid on including memorabilia and autographed merchandise.   Not to mention, their are grab bags that have a fun assortment of items that are very inexpensive.
