The Pittsburgh Penguins Host Toronto tonight for the first of a traditional home and home game.     Malkin and the Penguins appear poised to carry their 7 game winning streak into the second half of the season, while the Maple Leafs are fighting for a spot in the Playoffs.

The Penguin’a Allstars had a combined 4 points with Malkin scoring a goal and getting an assist to lead the group.    Malkin is hoping he and James Neal can continue that Hot Play for a little while longer.

The Penguins are getting healthier by the day, and with Jordan Staal possibly coming back within a couple of weeks, this Penguins team could be gearing up for a big run.    Jordan Staal was on the ice skating with Crosby and Simon Despres before.      There is still no official word from the Pens on Crosby, though we should hear something by no later than tomorrow morning.    It was reported that the Pens will issue a Statement on Crosby sometime today.

As for Toronto, they come into tonight re-energized and ready to start a surge that will hopefully put them in the playoffs.    Right now, they are on the outside looking in.        They are currently lead by Joffrey Lupol who served as the alternate captain for Team Chara in the NHL All Star Game.     They are also getting great contributions from Phil Kessel and Mikhail Grabovski.        The biggest reason for their recent surge has to do with the play from their Goalie, Jonas Gustavsson.     He has won 7 of his last 10, and will play tonight, and possibly tomorrow night as well.

The Puck will drop at 7:00 PM at Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center, and I must say…It’s A Great Day For Hockey!
