Pittsburgh Penguins News, Notes and Other Stuff

Aaron Asham is practicing, and will be ready to return to the ice officially this weekend for the Pens.       He has been recovering from a concussion and has missed several weeks.       Simon Despres also came off of the Injured List, and has been sent to Wilkes Barre to get some ice time before any call backs can occur.Sidney Crosby was back on the ice today, but after practice of course.    his status has not changed and he is still rehabbing as if his issues are only neck related.         As far as who was on the ice, here are the lines according to Sam Kasan.

The Penguins play the Anahein Ducks tomorrow night at 7:00pm at home.     The Mighty Ducks are 6-2-2 in their last 10.     They play the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday in Minnesota, then a quick trip to Pittsburgh for the game Wednesday.    Though, that is just the tip of the iceberg.   This Ducks team plays 8 road games in 15 days which would make them real “Road Warriors.”

Anaheim is led by their 40 year old captain, Teemu Selanne who has 51 points this year.      The ironic thing is that since Anaheim is struggling this season and the Pens are without Crosby for the foreseeable future, the rumors have started to swirl that Selanne could land in Pittsburgh.        Corey Perry is a superstar on the rise for this team with 44 points, and 26 of those points were goals.       This team has talent and ability, but has struggled on the road with a 7-11 and 7 record going into tonight’s game.

The puck will drop tomorrow night at 7pm at the Consol Energy Center.     If you would like to read more or follow me on Twitter, you can at Sports Monger.     You can also follow me on Facebook at Pittsburgh Sports Monger and lastly, do not miss this weeks episode of  Sports Monger Radio.
