Penguins Sting Blue Jackets For A 4-2 Win

The Pittsburgh Penguins were able to continue their good play and beat up on the Blue Jackets on Sunday.      The Pens Out shot, out hit, and out chanced the Columbus today and most of all, they were able to out score them.     The Pens won today by a score of 4-2 thus giving them 4 points for the weekend.

After scoring 8 goals yesterday, it took the Pens a period to get on the board, though they did out shoot the Blue Jackets 15-5 in the first.      Rick Nash scored first midway through the 2nd period to to give Columbus a 1-0 lead.        Evgeni Malkin was able to score a power play goal with less than a minute left in the 2nd to tie things up.

Pasqual Dupuis started the 3rd period scoring with a wrist shot to make it 2-1 at the 5:50 mark of the 3rd.    Kris Letang scored a power play goal 5 minutes later to make it 3-1.      That was after 2 goals by Letang and Kunitz were disallowed.      Both disallowed goals involved Chris Kunitz which seems to be a pattern for him this season.      The second disallowed goal was more than questionable, and after Letang scored to make it 3-1 he stared down the Referree that took away his first one as if to say …”take that!”

The Penguins were able to tack on another goal by Joe Vitale nearly 5 minutes later to make it 4-1.       Columbus was able to get one back but it was too little too late as the Pens were just way too much for the Blue Jackets today.       The Penguins go on the road after playing back to back games at home to face Dallas on Wednesday then Colorado on Saturday.
