The Penguins Are Playing Well And Getting Healthy At The Same Time

The Penguins were able to send Simon Despres and Brian Strait back down to Wilkes Barre because Paul Martin and Deryk Engelland will be back in the lineup on Thursday.    The Penguins are also eyeing up another possible comeback on Thursday Also.

The Pens had an off day today, resting as many bodies as possible, though Sid was on the Ice with the Little Pens.     Obviously Crosby was not doing any hitting drills with them, he plans to save that for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week in preparation for the Ranger invasion of Pittsburgh on Thursday night.     It is tough to get enough hitting in for Crosby to feel real comfortable but hopefully the next couple of days will help.

As for Kris Letang, he is practicing but no contact right now.     He is hoping to be able to return before the end of the regular season but their is no way to predict if that is possible.     The next few days of no games will more than likely be the last major break before the end of the season so the Pens need to use this time wisely.

The Penguins will play the Rangers on Thursday followed by games against Philadelphia and New Jersey both Saturday and Sunday.
