Pens Prep For A Tough Series With The Flyers

The Pittsburgh Penguins will kick off their series against the Philly Flyers on Wednesday Night at 7:30 pm.       By all accounts, the Pens will go into the game with only one player that may not play and that will be…..

Matt Niskanen is the only player that was not back out on the ice today, though he skated before practice but did not take part of the practice with an undisclosed injury.     It’s playoff time, you know, now they are just undisclosed injuries such as Leg injuries will be headaches and ankle injuries will be the stomach flu.     If you ask me, that is clearly the worst part of the Hockey.    Just as a note, Matt Cooke got a Maintenance day today which means he was not on the ice,  just resting him.

Here are the lines that practiced today per the Pens Report and Sam Kasan.

Steve McIntyre was sent down to Wilkes Barre because the Pens are hoping they do not need that kind of muscle for the Playoffs.      Although, most may not believe it going into a series with Philly, the Penguins can not take that kind of bait over the next couple of weeks.     The Pens arguably have the most difficult draw playing the Flyers so it is going to be difficult to come out of this series fully healthy knowing how Philly plays and how they try to put teams into bad situations retaliating for questionable play.      The Flyers have a really strong special teams and power play so the Pens can not let themselves get caught in that trap.

We will give an injury update on the Flyers tomorrow.      If you would like to follow me on Twitter you can at Sports Monger and on Sports Monger Radio.
