It has been hard to avoid all that has been written and said about Sidney Crosby. Where is this all coming from and why is it coming to a head right now? I think it is by design and it is coming from the fans, coaches, players and former players turned broadcasters. It has been coming from everywhere and I believe it might have come out a year or 2 before but with the absence of Sid and Geno last year, and Sid part of this year, It has just taken longer for it all to catch on. Sidney Crosby has come along way, even admittedly by him in terms of whining and diving, but that is not the guy that is out on the ice right now. The guy out there is an Ultra talented, young, and Fresh skater that is currently skating rings around his competition. And that is Ticking some people off.
Crosby has scored 25 points in 14 games since his return which is close to 2 points per game and no one has done that Since Mario. And he had his detractors and haters also. What did your parents tell you when you were a kid about kids making fun of you or picking on you. They were being mean because in someway shape or form, they were envious of you. In some cases, we know that is not true, but more times than not, it was true. And of course, we can’t go against what mom says. She is always right. And in this case, she is right. Pure ENVY!
It has to be hard to sit back and know you are better than everyone that is tearing you down but not say anything. At least not anything that could be read as belligerence or retaliatory. At least it would be hard for me. Not for Sid though. The most he has said is that all that he has been hearing is just a bunch of garbage. So he is talented and classy. That certainly does not sound like the guy that is portrayed so often from the outside media, and players from the other teams in the Eastern Conference. Though we know, that is truly what he is in our eyes. To us his fans and followers, he is the most talented player in hockey, and the classiest.
To the Outsiders that continue to detract, keep hating because we all know that you wish you had him on your team. If you would like to read more you can follow me on Twitter at Sports Monger, and on Sports Monger Radio.
