Pens vs. Flyers Game 5 In This Bizarre Series

The Pittsburgh Penguins take on the Philly Flyers Tonight as the Pens are hoping to extend the series 1 more game and the Flyers are hoping to close out the series.     Now if we could only predict how many goals will be scored tonight in this Bizarre Series.

In the 4 games in this series at least 1 team has scored at least 8 goals in 3 of those games.      If  someone out there had predicted that prior to the start of the series, get me that person’s name and number, I would like to meet them at the track tonight…after the game of course!

Not sure what goalie will be in the net tonight for the Flyers, but we know Fleury will be in the net for Pittsburgh.      It was also announced today that Paul Martin was not on the ice and will not play today.      The Pens practiced with all 8 defensemen this morning on the ice and as for the rest of the lines, they shook out like this.

As for tonight, If the Pens would like to walk away with another win, Fleury has to play like he did in the 2nd and 3rd periods of the last game.    Also, the Penguins forwards have to keep the pressure on whomever the Flyers have in net.    Neither Goalie Bryzgalov or Bobrovsky have played well, so if they are able to get on them fast and keep the pressure on, the doubt could start to creep in.    That ultimately is what the Pens are going to work for over the course of tonight’s game.     They will also need more good play from their Top 3, Malkin, Crosby and Staal.

As for the Flyers, they need to get back to their game.    Get on the power play as much as they can by getting under the skin of the Penguins.     If they get more opportunities than the Pens on the PP tonight, the outcome will fall in their favor.    If it is even or tilted towards the Pens, then expect the Penguins to triumph tonight. Either way this game will be a fun one to watch, and I am counting down the hours.
