Season In Review: Pascal Dupuis

I don’t think that Pascal Dupuis will ever forget this season statistically for the Penguins. He was less than Super Duper over the course of the 2011-2012 campaign.

Dupuis scored a career high in points with 59 along with 29 goals. Playing along side Sidney Crosby helped his point totals this season. Pascal Dupuis might not be one of the high goal scorers for the Penguins but he will have his name next to some Penguin greats. Towards the end of the season Dupuis strung together a miraculous scoring streak with the Penguins. Tallying points in the last 17 games of the regular season put his name along side Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby for a few of the longest scoring streaks in NHL history.

In addition to helping his teammates on and off the ice, Dupuis wants to finish his career in Pittsburgh by taking the pay cuts needed to stay with the team. When I sat and watched Pascal Dupuis play this season he reminded very much like a Bill Guerin. Dupuis is a guy that would do anything for his team to achieve the ultimate goal.

With all the contract and cap moves that could possibly happen look for Dupuis to do what he can over the next few years to keep that Penguin sweater on until the end of his career.
