Any fan of their respective team knows when they hoisted the ultimate crown for that sport. 20 years ago The Pittsburgh Penguins did that very thing as they claimed their 2nd Stanley Cup Title in franchise history.

The Pittsburgh Penguins claimed a sweep of the Chicago Blackhawks. The road to The Stanley Cup for the Penguins went like this. Pittsburgh defeated Washington 4-3, took down The New York Rangers in 6 games, and swept the Boston Bruins.

Mario Lemieux won his 2nd Conn Smythe trophy as the playoffs MVP and rightfully so. Lemieux, during the 1992 playoff campaign scored 34 points. The amazing statistic was that he missed 6 games during these very playoffs. I think we all know why he is a legend and their is a statue up outside of Consol Energy Center.

After watching back to back titles being brought home to Pittsburgh the fans had to wait another 17 years before they could see the fable cup won by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
