Fansided Moch Draft 2012: PensLab Selects Nicholas Kerdiles

Penslabyrinth.com has the 22nd pick in the Fansided Moch Draft 2012 and for our pick we would like to choose….Nicholas Kerdiles.

Kerdiles is a legitimate 2 way forward and one of the few in the draft this season. For a team like the Pens, that kind of talent is necessary when you consider the type of Hockey that has been played through the playoffs and the overall lack of defense the Pens currently have.

According to several sites including nhlmochdraft.org, Kerdiles is widely considered to be the best 2 way forward in the draft this year.     He is tenacious on the boards along the corners and in front of the net.      He consistently outworks his opponents for the puck, and is quick to pick their pockets if they do not protect against that.     He is 6’1″ tall and 195 lbs.     So he is a pretty average sized player by today’s standards.

The Skinny: Despite lacking an eye-catching standout skill, Nicolas Kerdiles is one of the more well-rounded and polished prospects for 2012.(nhlmochdraft.org)

He is currently ranked 22nd in the US and 29th in North America.      He is considered to have a plus hockey IQ and can distribute the puck well.      Here is a clip from a game this season.
