Season In Review: Jordan Staal

Will Jordan Staal be a Pittsburgh Penguin next season? That has been the major story for the Penguins since their season ended in April. As trade rumors continue to heat up for Jordan Staal the 3rd line Center had yet another quiet but consistent season.

With several of his teammates having career years and the return of Sidney Crosby, Jordan Staal fell to the back burner. He did have another consistent season compared to others in the past. Staal played in 62 games and scored 25 goals along with 25 assists.

Though his regular season numbers were quiet, Staal did give the Pittsburgh faithful something to cheer about in a playoff series that went Philadelphia’s way. The 3rd line center was mainly the sole reason that the Penguins even made it to game 6 in the postseason.

Many questions do loom now that the Stanley Cup playoffs are over and free agency is looming. Only time will tell if we will see Jordan Staal putting consistent number up for the Penguins or becoming the number one center for another team.
