Pittsburgh Penguins Trade Jordan Staal, For Sutter And 8th Pick Overall

The Pittsburgh Penguins traded Jordan Staal to the Carolina Hurricane for Brandon Sutter and Brian Domoulin and the 8th overall Pick in the draft.      And Ray Shero then was able to draft the player they had their sites on, though knew they had no chance to get without a trade.     Derrick Pouliot is a left handed defenseman  that the NBC Sports Network compared to Max Talbot, I just hope more upside.

The GM of the Carolina Hurricane was interviewed on the NBC Sports Network after the the Pens announced the draft pick, and he said that He came to Ray Shero’s office about 4:3o in the afternoon and hammered out a deal.   The Deal was Done right before 7pm.     It allowed the Pens to Get Derrick Pouliot, which as mentioned was the guy they were most interested in.       Sutter was the deal maker.      Penguins also get to keep the 22nd pick overall pick.    After the first round tonight, I will break down these moves and players.

Follow me on Twitter @sportsmonger and on Sports Monger Radio Tonight at 11pm where I will discuss the draft in length.
