CBA Discussions As Deadline Looms

Yesterday Gary Bettman met with Donald Fehr, Executive Director of the NHL Players Association, for CBA discussions before the looming September 15th deadline.  There was a proposal by the NHLPA and a counter proposal by the NHL.  Sounds good right?  Eh not so much.   Dan Rosen of NHL.com and Bob McKenzie of TSN were on hand for the media sessions.  (note: if you have Twitter and don’t follow them you’re doing yourself an injustice they are great for hockey information.)  Anyway I’ll let Mr. Rosen explain the CBA discussion via Twitter:

Bob has been around for a  long time and knows what he’s talking about.  If talks regress once the deadline passes we may be in for a long fall and winter.  At this point we’re just hoping there’s a regular season at all.
