Tangradi, 24, was acquired by the Pens in the Ryan Whitney trade, in which Pittsburgh also got Chris Kunitz. Â At the start of this season, Tangradi was thought to be the final top-six forward–but those plans had failed.
In five contests, Tangradi was only able to maintain a plus-2 rating as he went scoreless in every game. Â And the situation eventually resulted in healthy-scratching the 2007 second-round selection (42nd overall) for most of Pittsburgh’s games thus far.
It was also announced that the team has re-assigned defenseman Dylan Reese to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Â In three games with Pittsburgh this year, Reese was unable to record a point.
