After recently agreeing to a PTO contract with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the Pittsburgh Penguins and GM Ray Shero officially announced that they have signed defenseman Mark Eaton to a one-year-contract for $725,000 – according to the team’s website.

Pens’ fans remember Eaton when he played for the organization between 2006-10 and from when he won a Stanley Cup with the team during their 2009 campaign.

The 12-year veteran has totaled 85 points (24G, 61A) in his NHL career, but his best season statistically was his last season in Pittsburgh (09-10) in which he tallied 16 points (3G, 13A) in 79 games.

So far this year for the WBS Pens, Eaton has registered just one assist in six contests.
