Pens captain Sidney Crosby has been named the NHL’s ‘Second Star’ for the month of February, in which he led the NHL with 24 points (6G, 18A).

Crosby, 25, registered a point in 11 of his 14 contests, and he was also able to record three points in six of those February games.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos was named the first star for his 10 goal outburst, and like Crosby, he too tallied at least a point in 11 of his 14 games.

Crosby is currently tied with Stamkos for the NHL lead in points with 31.

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Ray Emery took the third star, displaying a perfect 7-0-0 record, and having a 1.66 goals against average with a .941 save percentage.
