The Pittsburgh Penguins and head coach Dan Bylsma reported that defenseman Kris Letang skated on his own Friday morning – according to the team’s Twitter handle.

Letang has now skated on his own multiple times this week, signifying an impending and much needed return to the lineup.

Although he won’t play in tonight’s game, it looks as if the Pens top defenseman is in line to return for Tuesday’s matchup against Carolina.

The 25-year-old defensive standout has not played since March 26th against Montreal, where he suffered a broken toe.

On the season, Letang has registered 28 points (3G, 25A) and skated to a phenomenal plus-11 rating.
