Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang was back in team practice at Southpointe Monday and is in line to return for Tuesday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Although he didn’t say he would for sure be a go Tuesday, Letang said it would ultimately be up to the coach.
“It’ll be up to the coach. There’s no rush to get back, but at the same time it’s a short season. I want to start playing, being healthy and ready to go for the playoffs.”
Letang has missed the teams last five games with this lower-body injury (broken toe) and eight of his last nine total because of another lower-body injury (groin.)
On the season, Letang has registered 28 points (3G, 25A) in 28 games and skated to a plus-11 rating.
Pens play Tuesday in Carolina at 7 p.m.
