Martin & Neal Likely To Play Saturday; Crosby Has Dental Procedure

Injured Pittsburgh defenseman Paul Martin and forward James Neal practiced with the team Thursday, and there is a good chance that both are likely to play in Saturday’s finale against the Carolina Hurricanes – according to Michelle Crechiolo and Sam Kasan of the Pens’ website.

Although their return dates have yet to be confirmed, the fact that head coach Dan Bylsma has brought them on the trip to New Jersey is a good indicator that they’ll be back for Saturday’s contest.

Martin has been out since March 28th with a broken bone in his hand and Neal has not played since suffering a concussion April 5th.

It was also reported that captain Sidney Crosby had a dental procedure back in Pittsburgh Thursday, and is expected back in practice Friday – per Crechiolo and Kasan.

There is still no timetable for his return; however, speculation believes number 87’s return is imminent.

It looks as though Pittsburgh is aiming to have its full lineup in for Saturday’s final contest, considering the injured stars need for game-action before the playoffs.

Nothing’s been guaranteed.
