The Pittsburgh Penguins are reporting that captain Sidney Crosby will return to team practice on Friday – according to Sam Kasan of the Pens’ website.

Crosby, who had dental work done Thursday, has not played since breaking his jaw March 30th off a deflected slap shot.

The captain’s missed Pittsburgh’s last 10 games and has been skating with strength and conditioning coach Mike Kadar since.

Although it has yet to be determined whether or not he’ll play Saturday, it’s becoming more likely he’ll be ready for the first game of the playoffs.

Which is obviously great news for the Pens.

In 36 games this season, Crosby has recorded 56 points (15G, 41A) and skated to an other-worldly plus-26.
