Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will reportedly miss his 12th consecutive game when the team takes on the Carolina Hurricanes in their season finale Saturday – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle.

Number 87 did end up practicing with the team Friday for the first time since breaking his jaw March 30th, and was given medical clearance to resume doing-so Thursday.

Although it would’ve been nice to see Crosby at least get one game in to test out the new jaw-protector, the Pens are playing it cautious with the playoffs commencing next week.

Pittsburgh is getting a couple other injured stars back though.

Defenseman Paul Martin and forward James Neal are reportedly both set to play in the Pens finale Saturday – per their Twitter.

Martin has been out since March 30th with a broken bone in his hand, and Neal since April 5th with a concussion.

Both Martin and Neal practiced Friday, with Neal sporting a new tinted visor – per the Pens’ Instagram.

Pens got the Hurricanes Saturday in Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m.
