Congratulations go to the Pittsburgh Penguins regional telecast network ROOT SPORTS.
Having scored a 12.66 average household rating for Pittsburgh’s 2013 season, the Pens games now rank number-one under the average regional sports network ratings for any U.S. based MLB, NBA or NHL squad since 2002.
In the NHL alone, the Pens have been the most watched team for the fourth consecutive year — and rightfully so.
With the season being shortened this year, it seemed more than likely the Pens games would be watched by many — considering the amount of seat-filler skaters they got.
Not to mention the season they had.
