The Pens captain has been named a finalist for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy — which is given to the skater whom “best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sporstmanship and dedication to hockey.”
Crosby has never won this award.
You’d think being considered for the Hart and Ted Lindsay trophies would be enough for number-87 — but apparently a broken jaw and a shortened season isn’t going to be enough to hold him back from achieving greatness.
Crosby registered 56 points (15G, 41A) in 36 games and skated to a phenomenal plus-26 rating for Pittsburgh this season.
