The Pittsburgh Penguins and GM Ray Shero announced Saturday that they have signed defenseman Nick D’Agostino to a two-year entry-level contract.
The 22-year-old was drafted by the Pens in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and has yet to debut for Pittsburgh.
Playing the last four seasons at Cornell University — D’Agostino compiled 72 points (25G, 47A) in 132 career games.
And at the finish of his 2012-2013 campaign he was awarded the Mark Weiss Memorial Award — which is given to the senior skater with endless dedication and passion.
His new deal will expire following the 2014-2015 season.
