Pens Forward Chris Kunitz Back At Practice Thursday

According to the Pens Twitter handle (@penguins) — Pens forward Chris Kunitz returned to the team’s skate Thursday morning after he missed Wednesday’s practice.

Nobody will know for sure why Kunitz has been absent from hockey activity — the organization is not discussing injuries — but it’s no secret number-14 is hurting a little.

Seeing less ice-time in Games 4 and 5 against Ottawa, Kunitz suffered an injury at some point later in the series — but as of right now it is unclear as to how severe the ailment is.

Knowing how close the Pens are to reaching the Cup final, whatever is stalling Kunitz shouldn’t prevent him from participating in Game 1 against Boston Saturday.

In 11 postseason games so far, Kunitz has nine points (4G, 5A) and leads the team with three power play goals.

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals is set to start Saturday in Pittsburgh at 8 p.m.
