According to the Pittsburgh Penguins official team website — the Pittsburgh Penguins and GM Ray Shero announced Monday that they have recalled goaltender Jeff Zatkoff from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Zatkoff, 25, had himself an outstanding first season with the WBS Penguins.

In 49 games during the regular-season, Zatkoff finished with a 26-20 record and had a 1.93 goals against average (tops in the league) with a .920 save percentage.

Zatkoff and goalie Brad Thiessen each received the Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award, which is given to the pair of goalies who surrender the least amount of goals.

Together they allowed 178 tallies.

Zatkoff most likely won’t see any action in net for the Pens this postseason; however, he’s got great upside and it showed this past season at WBS.
