Report: Pens Invite 54 Players To Camp


The Pittsburgh Penguins and general manager Ray Shero announced today that have invited 54 players to training camp, scheduled to commence Wednesday – according to the team’s website.

There were 30 forwards, 18 defensemen and six goaltenders listed on the camp roster.

The usual suspects are of course attending — Pascal Dupuis, Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz, Kris Letang, Evgeni Malkin, James Neal — but there is also quite a few prospects who played in this past weekends rookie tournament invited.

Pittsburgh will hold practice sessions and a scrimmage Saturday, Sept. 14, at the CONSOL Energy Center — which will be open to the public.

Their first official on-ice practice is set for Thursday, Sept. 12.
