The Pittsburgh Penguins and general manager Ray Shero have reportedly re-assigned 11 players, Tuesday, leaving 44 skaters on the active training camp roster – according to the team’s website.

Forwards Jean-Sebastien Dea and Matia Marcantuoni, along with goaltenders Tristan Jarry and Matt Murray were sent back to their junior clubs, expected to play down there for the upcoming 2013-14 campaign.

Forwards Brian Gibbons, Tom Kostopoulos, Paul Thompson and Dominik Uher, as well as defensemen Nick D’Agostino, Reid McNeill and Clark Seymour were all shipped to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Out of all the skaters discharged, Kostopoulos is the lone player to have performed in the National Hockey League (NHL).

As it stands right now, Pittsburgh has 25 forwards, 15 defensemen and 4 goaltenders, so more moves are going to be made in the coming days.

The Pens will need to get down to a 23-man roster — expect 21 more cuts
