The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly been named the NHL’s number one franchise, according to ESPN the Magazine’s ‘Ultimate Standings’ fan survey.
The survey is conducted yearly to see which franchise’s out of the MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL provide the best offerings for their beloved fans.
Pittsburgh also finished ranked seventh out of all the 122 professional sports teams, which is a tremendous accomplishment for the Pens.
Following the NHL lockout of 2004-05, Pittsburgh has grown exponentially since they drafted captain Sidney Crosby first-overall — who remains the best-overall talent in the NHL.
Producing two Hart trophy recipients (Crosby, Evgeni Malkin), a Jack Adams Award winner (Dan Bylsma), and one Stanley Cup (2009) — Pittsburgh has been in a class of their own.
They’ve worked hard to give back to their fans, and they’re receiving the acknowledgement they deserve.
Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Penguins for this outstanding achievement!
