Dan Bylsma Takes Over Pirates Twitter

Pittsburgh Penguins’ head coach Dan Bylsma took over the Pittsburgh Pirates twitter page during Friday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds.

By letting the fans know it was him, he would put “#coachbylsma” after each of his tweets, and throughout his time he would generously interact with Bucs’ fans as well.

Answering fan questions, Bylsma was asked which Penguin would make the best Pirate and vice versa.  He responded by saying catcher Russell Martin and forward Chris Kunitz would fit the description of switching roles.

Unfortunately for Bylsma, as the Pirates went into the ninth inning up three runs, he tweeted out “raise the jolly roger,” which is said once they’ve won the game — and Pittsburgh blew the lead.

Immediately following Bylsma’s early prediction, he had stopped tweeting, speculating that he possibly regretted counting his chickens too soon perhaps.

Nevertheless, Bylsma provided the Pirates with much needed support while they fight for a division title — much like when the Bucs’ wore the Pens’ jersey’s during their Stanley Cup run.

Pittsburgh sports teams really care for one another, and it’s another reason as to why the city is so perpetually united.
