The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly placed forward James Neal on the injured reserve list – according to the teams’ twitter handle.

Neal, who only played 3:49 minutes in the season-opener against the New Jersey Devils, allegedly re-aggravated an upper-body injury he sustained before the season started.

The 26-year-old winger hasn’t been able to practice with the team since, and speculation leads us to believe that he could be out for a long period of time.

With forward Beau Bennett also hurt, center Evgeni Malkin is going to be seeing a combination of new linemates in the next few games.

However, Bennett has still not been ruled out of tonight’s game against the Edmonton Oilers.

Forward Chuck Kobasew has been reportedly practicing with Malkin and Jussi Jokinen on the second-line in Bennett’s place.

The game tonight can be seen on the ROOT network, and is set to start at 7 p.m.
