Report: Pens Sign Matia Marcantuoni

The Pittsburgh Penguins and General Manager Ray Shero have reportedly signed forward Matia Marcantuoni to a three-year entry-level contract, according to the teams’ twitter handle.

Marcantuoni, 19, was selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth-round (92nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and attended Pittsburgh’s training camp this year before being re-assigned back to his junior club.

In nine games with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season, Marcantuoni has registered six points (3G, 3A) and skated to a minus-3 rating.

Playing in 139 career regular-season contests for Kitchener, Marcantuoni has compiled 25 points (7G, 18A) and has two points (1G, 1A) in 17 postseason games.
