The Pittsburgh Penguins and General Manager Ray Shero have reportedly recalled forward Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), according to the teams’ twitter handle.
Megna, 23, was signed by Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and will most likely make his NHL debut tomorrow night against the New York Islanders.
Helping WBS get off to a 6-0-0 start to the season, Megna has played in all six of their contests, posting five points (3G, 2A) and skating to an outstanding plus-8 rating.
Leading the AHL in both shorthanded goals (2) and shorthanded points (3), Megna also ranks tied for first in the league with two game-winning goals.
Friday’s game will be played at the CONSOL Energy Center, and is set to start at 7 p.m.
