Already riddled with injuries, the Pittsburgh Penguins suffered yet another loss following Monday’s victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.
According to Michelle Crechiolo of the official Pittsburgh Penguins team website, forward Chuck Kobasew will reportedly be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks with a lower-body injury.
Kobasew skated just 2:33 minutes before exiting midway through the first period against Carolina. In 12 contests this season, Kobasew has registered two goals and skated to a plus-3 rating.
While this is yet another injury to add to the list, Pittsburgh got a surprisingly effective effort from rookie forward Jayson Megna, who figures to be receiving more playing time with Kobasew injured.
It’s also beneficial that the team has gotten forward Matt D’Agostini back from injured reserve, who has already seen a good amount of time on the second-line with Evgeni Malkin.
The Pens’ got the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, and it’ll be interesting to see how the team lines up with a good amount of their ailing stars shelved.
The game can be seen on the NBC sports network, and is set to start at 8 p.m.
