The Pittsburgh Penguins and general manager Ray Shero have reportedly placed forward Matt D’Agostini on waivers Tuesday – according to Sam Kasan of the team’s website.
D’Agostini, 27, signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh in the offseason and hasn’t panned out on the ice for the team. Playing in just eight games this season due to on-and-off scratches and an injured reserve stint, D’Agostini just didn’t impress the Pens’ enough.
Recording only one assist and skating to a minus-1, D’Agostini will now wait to see if another team claims him.
He’s skated in 272 career regular-season games in the NHL, and he has compiled 96 points (47G, 49A). He also has scored one goal in seven postseason contests.
