The Pittsburgh Penguins and general manager Ray Shero have reportedly recalled forwards Jayson Megna and Chris Conner, along with defenseman Simon Despres from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton – according to the team’s website.
Megna, 23, has performed in six contests for Pittsburgh this season and has collected three points (2G, 1A). A crash-the-net type player, Megna will more than likely skate on the third-line with center Brandon Sutter.
Conner, 29, played in two games for the team this season and has failed to register a point. However, creating multiple chances due to his pesky style of play, he should have a better-go this time around.
Despres, 22, has spent the entire season in WBS so far, leading the minor-league team in goals for defensemen with three through 17 games. His plus-13 rating is tied with teammate Brian Gibbons for the league-lead in that category.
No word on if they’ll play in tonight’s tilt against the Toronto Maple Leafs, however, since forward Tanner Glass and defenseman Paul Martin were place on injured reserve today, they’ll probably get the call.
The game tonight can be seen on ROOT Network, and is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
