Pittsburgh Penguins’ forward Jayson Megna left in the third period of last night’s matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and head coach Dan Byslma reported after the game that he’s unlikely to play in Wednesday’s game – according to Michelle Crechiolo of the team’s website.
After colliding with Leafs’ goaltender Jonathan Bernier following a race for the puck, Megna crashed awkwardly into the boards and noticeably limped back to the bench. Byslma said he was diagnosed with a lower-body injury and is day-to-day.
Megna has six points (4G, 2A) in 15 games for Pittsburgh.
Are we surprised another player got hurt? No. And while we wait for tomorrow’s tilt, one can only anticipate who is the next skater to get injured – considering it’s become a habit.
