The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly placed forward Jayson Megna on injured reserve with a lower-body injury – according to the team’s website.

Megna, 23, left Monday’s tilt against the Toronto in the third period after he collided with Leafs’ goaltender Jonathan Bernier and did not return. He was noticeably displaying a limp on his way back to the bench following the incident, and then exited down the runway.

In 15 games this season, Megna has collected six points (4G, 2A) and skated to a plus-3 rating.

Megna’s injury brings the total to nine players on IR for Pittsburgh.
