Pens' Defensemen Paul Martin and Brooks Orpik Make Team USA

Pittsburgh Penguins’ defensemen Paul Martin and Brooks Orpik have reportedly been named to Team USA for the 2014 Winter Olympics – according to the team’s website.

For Martin, this is his first time competing in the Olympics, and Orpik will be performing for the second straight Winter Games.

Orpik skated in six games in the 2010 Winter Olympics and he finished with a plus-2 rating. Martin, who is currently out with a broken tibia, was originally supposed to be apart of the squad, but missed it due to injury.

In 23 games this season, Martin has collected 11 points (2G, 9A) and skated to a minus-1 rating. Orpik has played in 34 contests so far, and has compiled eight points (1G, 7A) while skating to a plus-4 rating.
