Pittsburgh Penguins’ forward Zach Sill will reportedly be out the next 8-10 weeks after undergoing surgery on his wrist – according to head coach Dan Bylsma and the team’s Twitter handle.

Sill, who was recently sent down to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), didn’t play in WBS’ last game on Jan. 26, speculating he may have hurt it during their tilt on Jan. 25.

It’s an unfortunate turn of events for Sill. While he’s failed to record a point in 20 games for Pittsburgh, Sill was a major contributor on the penalty-kill, and provided great character in the locker room.

The injury may have costed him another chance at a call-up this season.

In 16 games for WBS this season, Sill has collected six points (3G, 3A) and skated to a plus-5 rating.
