Report: Paul Martin Has Surgery on Hand

Pittsburgh Penguins’ defenseman Paul Martin reportedly had surgery to repair his broken hand on Thursday – according to Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Head coach Dan Bylsma said Martin, who’s expected to miss 4-6 weeks, opted for surgery because it would help it heal quicker – per Rossi.

Martin has not played since Team USA’s quarterfinal matchup against the Czech Republic on Feb. 19.

In 33 games for Pittsburgh this season, Martin’s collected 12 points (2G, 10A) and skated to a minus-1 rating.
