The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly acquired forward Lee Stempniak from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a third-round pick – according to Darren Dreger of TSN.
Catching up. Stempniak to Pitt for a 3rd.

In 52 games for Calgary this season, Stempniak has collected 23 points (8G, 15A) and skated to a minus-21 rating – per hockeydb.com.
Although many people from around the hockey globe were probably anticipating Pens’ general manager Ray Shero to drop the bomb once again at the trade deadline, he did bring in two players that will help balance the team’s forwards out.
The secondary scoring for Pittsburgh has been sporadically horrendous, so, both Marcel Goc and Stempniak figure to add more goal-oriented skill.
They will probably be in the lineup tomorrow, when the Pens’ take on the San Jose Sharks.
The game can be seen on the NBC Sports Network, and is set to start at 10:30 p.m.
