Report: Pens Send Beau Bennett to WBS

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly sent forward Beau Bennett to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for conditioning – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle – signaling he’s on the verge of returning to the lineup.

Bennett, who hasn’t played since Nov. 22 with a hand/wrist ailment, has been practicing with the team recently, and looks as though he’ll be re-inserted roughly around the end of next week – that’s not a definite though.

Now that forward Lee Stempniak has all but solidified that right wing slot on the top-line, Bennett will probably be placed on the third-line to help boost the secondary scoring. And right now, his goal oriented skill-set would more than definitely improve the third pairing.

In 12 games this season, Bennett’s collected three points (1G, 2A).
