Recap: Beau Bennett's First Two Games with WBS

Pittsburgh Penguins’ forward Beau Bennett, who’s currently on a conditioning assignment in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, registered one assist in two games this weekend – according to the WBS’ website.

In Saturday’s tilt against the Utica Comets, Bennett’s first game-action since Nov. 22, his name didn’t show up on the stat-sheet. However, in Sunday’s game against the Albany Devils, Bennett was able to muster up three shots and dished out a helper.

WBS next contest is Wednesday, but Bennett is arguably on the verge of returning to Pittsburgh’s lineup.

Undergoing surgery to repair a hand/wrist ailment back in November, Bennett has missed the last 48 games, but has an outside chance of performing in the Pens’ game against the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday.

Knowing how severe his injury was, Pittsburgh probably wants to exercise extreme caution, given they’re due to start postseason play soon. We’ll see if Bennett makes his return.

In 12 games this season, Bennett’s collected three points (1G, 2A).
